About Your Workshop Leader

Peter Aird Consultant Kingdom Drilling Services, UK

Peter Aird has 30 years’ experience as an oil field drilling, well engineering and operations specialist. He has supervised and engineered the drilling of oil and gas wells globally in new frontier exploration, appraisal and extreme drilling development areas. His project experience was gained in early offshore UK deepwater and HPHT wells, followed by further exploration in North America, South East Asia, Norway, the Black Sea, Europe, West Africa, South Atlantic and recent Arctic drilling experiences. During the last 5 years, Peter has been employed in senior specialist drilling and engineering roles with major UK drilling operating companies including Kerr McGee, Maersk, Marathon Oil UK, and Cairn Energy PLC.

His expertise has been honed in variety of subsea, horizontal, platform in-fill, HPHT and remote deepwater exploration projects. Peter Aird holds an MSC in Drilling Engineering from The Robert Gordon University, is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and a Chartered Engineer with the UK Engineering Council. He actively participates in several industry forums. Peter has also shared his experience by delivering deepwater training and producing technical and operational treatises on oil well design, construction, engineering and drilling operations.
